Ultra Processed People

Has Peter read Chris van Tulleken's book 'Ultra Processed People'? What are his thoughts on it? Would he consider having Chris van Tulleken on the podcast as a guest?

Thyroid Deep Dive

I see that lots of people have requested a thyroid deep dive which I would also love to hear. Specifically with safe/optimal ranges not arbitrary ones, especially for patients being treated with T3, (like myself), impact on bloods of treatment. What to look for, what is not important on bloods e.g. T4 will go down but that's OK, what else to check for. Thank you for your work, really appreciate it! :)

protein supplements

I am an older woman (68). I find it difficult to eat the recommended amount of protein from natural sources; should I use protein supplements?

Benefits of VO2 Max "Elite but 1 decade younger"

Peter talks about the reduction in hazard ratio related to improvement in VO2 max and the fact that moving from a high to elite category for one's age group offers the smallest incremental benefit (yet still statistically significant). Regarding Peter's suggested target of the elite group for one age group younger than one's actual age, is there any data to support that the associated reduction in hazard ratio is statistically significant? If so, can you share some specific numbers to support that training to target the elite category of the age group below one's actual age group provides a commensurate benefit in reduction of HR or ACM?

Interpreting the data from a continuous glucose monitor

I'm prediabetic and a new user of a CGM (freestyle libre 3). I'd like to understand how to interpret what I see and examples of relatively safe experiments I can do to discover what combination of food content, amount and timing is healthiest. Specifically, the recommended limits feel inadequate. The app tells me I need to stay in a relatively wide range between 70 and 180mg/dL but says nothing about healthy rates of change, levels of overall variability etc..
