TRT for most people over 70?

Given that we now believe TRT is most likely not dangerous (AMA #180), and we strongly believe that the precipitous drop in muscle mass after age 70 is a driver of all-cause mortality, does it follow that most people over 70 should be on TRT?

Any thoughts on Quercetin to lower uric acid?

My uric acid came in at 6.72 mg/dL which caused me to look for something I could do on my own before taking this to my GP. Tart cherry extract and Quercetin came up. After a month on tart cherry extract I measured 6.62 and so discontinued treatment. Quercetin put me at 4.35 mg/dL after a month. Both dosed at 500mg once a day. Any downsides to this supplement vs say Uloric? Have you heard about other such case reports?

Alpha Lipoic Acid and Glucose

I recently wore a CGM for the first time. I tested many things. I found 300 mg Alpha Lipoic Acid significantly reduces my blood sugar spikes if consumed before a meal. 600 mg greatly reduces my spike. I ate the same meal (even weighed out the food) under the same conditions (time, order in which food was consumed…etc). Do you think… 1. It’s safe to have a 300mg dose 3-4 times a day before meals to control glucose spikes? 2. Recommend this for people who consume a high carb diet? P.S. I even went hard core in my testing and drank 1 beer, ate 1 bowl of full sugar ice cream and half of a cookie that was the size of my face and my glucose went from about 80 to about 110…this would typically put me in the 170s…

Chest infections

Hi, I'm a mountain runner and weightlifter but a lifelong asthmatic living in Ireland. Every year once the damp and cold weather sets in, it always results in one or two chest infections over the winter months. Even if I reduce volume and move indoors during bad weather. Would you have any recommendations on a protocol either supplement or lifestyle that might help support my immune system over the winter months. Thanks

Melatonin

Listening to AMA 42 and would like to challenge you on your conclusions on melatonin. Based on the thousands of articles from Russle Reiter, none of what you concluded is correct. I apologize for saying it that way, hopefully doesn’t come across as rude. Reiter’s work has shown that melatonin is a very potent hormone that given exogenously at low and high doses has brilliant effects on several (upwards of 10?) body systems and disease processes. Even stops tumor progression in cancer. So, wondering if you’ve read Reiter’s work. Thanks for all you do! Always enjoying the content.
