Rapamycin and its effect on AST, ALT and GGT levels and the liver in general.

Since starting a Rapamycin regime about five months ago, my liver enzymes have gone from normal (40) to approximately 220 (AST, ALT) and 380 (GGT). Your thoughts on Rapamycin and its effect on the liver. Thank you.

CVA risk with HRT in women with hx of migrane with aura

I'm not a big believer in these national database studies. However, I would appreciate your critical interpretation of the literature that suggests women with hx of migrane with aura are at a higher risk of CVA with HRT. Interesting that the transdermal application did not show an increased risk, which may suggest an alternative mechanism. Afib & Bike Riders (endurance athletes)

Hi Peter, you talk alot about heart disease but not heart rhythm. I only recently understood there was a difference. I have read you book, watch your podcasts ect and have been focusing on all the things you talk about however AFIB is something your don't talk about. It effects alot of people and I am most interested in the link from sport hart heart activity and some people claim 5x increase in Afib. This is doing my head in - would love you you talk more about this as I am sure I am not the only one that could be better educated in this area. Thats Peter -keep up the great work!

Strength training with an ascending aorta aneurysm

Hello Peter (Dr. Attia, I’m being informal as I know this does not constitute a medical relationship or advice and I think I’m more funny than I am), To the meet and potatoes. I’ve been following you since I learned of you while working at Dexcom, many years ago). I know that you recommend strengthen training (heavy) in conjunction with zone 2 and VO2 training. I turn 45 (6’3”, 238lbs) in two months and was recently (5 months ago) diagnosed with an ascending aorta aneurysm (4.5). How do I handle compensate for my lack of heavy strength training in my centenarian decathlon preparation? I no longer lift over 50lbs, whether a barbell, single dumbbell, or machine. I adhere to everything but VO2Max and stretching, which I only do every two weeks (still building that mental fortitude of suck), but I’m worried that my inability to maintain my current strength and gain more will impact the quality of my longevity. Thank you for all of the hard work you and your staff go through to provide us with actionable insights and thank you for your willingness to be open and share with the world.
