physical evaluation protocol

During the Joe Rogen show, Peter mentions his physical evaluative process with his patients such as hang time and core strength designed by Bettany. Can he do an AMA or release a form with all the test he uses. Also who administers these tests, an athletic trainer, PA, PT or just an intern. Does Peter refer or train Physical therapists he sends his patients to for muscle skeletal issues.

healthspan and achilles & other tendons

Hi Peter (and team), how about covering the question in more detail on what we can do for not-so-young tendons (incl Achilles)? In many cases, particularly those who did a lot of sport may have tendons that are less-than-happy once they hit their late forties. What can we do to bring healthspan back to those, if they previously have been abused, esp considering that good blood circulation won't just cut it, for some of the tendons. Once I had my own injury, within a couple of days I realized just how many of my friends in a similar age bracket have had a similar challenge. Thanks for considering this -- your work is really useful, and no exaggeration to say that it's changed (& improved) my life.

What would be your protocol to optimize recovery from musculoskeletal trauma?

So, it stands to reason that if one is i injured they should get medical advice from doctors and follow the regular treatment protocol. What are things in addition to regular medical treatment that you would recommend? For example, what are supplements that you think can be useful (e.g., supplemental collagen)? What do you think of fasting in the context of recovery from trauma and/or surgery?

Ice for injury rehab

For decades the use of ice for acute injury rehab (surgery recovery, trauma) and overuse injuries (baseball pitchers, etc) has been what everyone recommends. But now I'm hearing that Dr. Gabe Mirkin, the M.D who coined the phrase RICE, is suggesting there isn't any research showing the use of ice does anything and can actually interfere with healing process. There now is an growing anti-ice movement. What are your thoughts on the use of ice for injury recovery?

Calorie Restriction & Covid

I just started the Prolon Diet. My goal isn't weight loss, rather, it's longevity. Putting aside whether one believes Prolon is a good mechanism for this...is calorie restriction potentially a bad thing when/if I'm exposed to Omicron during the 5 day program?
