I'm thinking of the study "Elevated circulating follistatin associates with an increased risk of type 2 diabetes" published in nature (doi: 10.1038/s41467-021-26536-w). Could this replace the somewhat cumbersome OGTT? They claim to be even better at identifying the risk 19 years before (traditional) diagnose/disease of T2DM develops. Might also be connected to NAFLD...? Would be nice to hear you and Bob discuss this a bit!
Using 180-AGE as a Low Target HR for Zone 2 training, what variability is allowed either up or down to stay within zone 2. I love being outside and going on walks, I know it is not the preferred method but given that we all only have so much time I was hoping to try and make a walking outside protocol for myself (same route, time markers for pace, and a HR zone) do you believe adding weight (RUCKING) on flat ground could get you to zone 2? Thanks so much for you podcast, I am learning so much.
