Feeling cold

I've had issues with feeling cold since I moved to a low-carb lifestyle approximately two years ago. I lost about 25 lbs and then gained back about 10. I feel stronger than ever and my athletic performance has never been better. I was hoping this feeling cold would go away once my weight stabilized and my body adjusted to the new weight, but alas no. I checked my TSH levels and they seem to be in the normal range (2.286 uIU/mL). My doctor refuses to check T3, reverse T3, T4 etc. Are there places where I can check this myself? Do I have any options other than changing my doctor? Could there be other reasons for feeling cold?

Vitamin C and Blood Glucose Response

Hi Peter, I appreciate the consideration with this question. I’m using the Levels CGM (which is great BTW) and wanted to see what a vitamin C immune boost (via IV would do to my blood sugar). Pre-IV, I was at an average 70 mg/dL and fasted. 30 minutes into the IV my CGM is showing 400+ mg/dL. What specifically causes this specific readout in CGMs (assuming Levels isn’t the only CGM that responds this way).

Training Splits

I am curious how you schedule your training sessions during the week to balance Zone 2 and higher intensity "cardio"training along with resistance training. I struggle with balancing pulling and legs with my Zone 2 work. What to do the day after a leg strength day. Thank you.

Power

How do you think about training for power with your resistance training? Thank you.

Moderation and the Downsides of Rigidity

I'm curious how you think about moderation. In your own habits, it seems that you rarely deviate from a chosen dietary program, whether it is staying in ketosis for 4+ years, or hardly if ever drinking alcohol. The vast majority of people don't operate like this, though, and still manage to live decently energetic and healthy lives. By casting things so starkly in our minds, can it make those moments when we deviate from a program more disruptive than they are in reality? For example, feeling like the end times are approaching after having some bread or a beer, when there were times in our lives when we had lots of bread and beer and still lived well, were happy, and reasonably productive?
