GLP1 agonists (semiglutide) and heart rate

I just heard the latest AMA today (#45) and Peter mentions the correlation he has seen with his patients that take semiglutide and raise in heart heart rate and decrease in HRV. I personally have experienced this first hand and I am very torn between the pros and cons of this trade off. On one hand I have been able to lower my A1C from predicable (5.9) to normal levels (5.4) but normally have a rating heart rate via Oura ring of 48 to 50 and an HRV in the 70s, after a few months on the drug my resting heart rate does not go below 60 and my HRV never goes above 40. Two questions. One is if I get off the semiglutide will heart rate and HRV go back to normal? And two is the trade off worth it?, meaning what’s more important not being diabetic or having your heart rate 10 beats faster for the rest of your life?

Fibromuscular Dysplasia

I was just diagnosed with this and it is considered a wide-spread but underdiagnosed vascular condition that can cause high blood pressure due to renal involvement, TIAs, strokes, dissections, and more. Most doctors have never heard of this and know very little if anything about it. It might be good to had a podcast to get the information out there for docs and people who might have it.

Can you talk more about the Denmarks of aging?

You mentioned this on the AMA this week (the March 2023 AMA) and I think it’d be beneficial for us all if you went into more depth on this topic. I dare say we’re all here due to our interest in aging well, so these Denmarks may be of great benefit to all listeners. Thank you.

How much Protein if I’m overweight

You recommend about a gram a pound, but I’m 270. Should I aim for a gram for my ideal weight (perhaps 180 - 200)
