Bulimia Nervosa and Blood Glucose & Insulin Fluctuations

Bulimia with binge-purge cycles can result in dramatic fluctuations in blood glucose and insulin levels. What do we know about the negative consequences this? For someone with a long history of BN (decades), what can be done to offset the impact(s) other than achieving remission?

HIIT - amount and timing

What is the "minimum effective dose" of HIIT needed to reap the benefits? If I am doing 2 x 15 minute blocks per week, is that enough? I typically do Zone 2 followed by HIIT then resistance training then my first meal of the day (30+ grams protein), in that order. Thoughts?

Hypothyroidism

Many docs only test TSH and supplement with T4 (Synthroid). I have had hypothyroidism for years. Currently, my TSH is suppressed (below normal) on Synthroid but my T3 levels are also low normal and I continue to have symptoms of hypothyroidism. When is supplementation with T3 recommended? How should appropriate dose be determined? When should complete thyroid panels (antibodies, etc) be considered?

Do you have an ideal keto-diet fat intake composition that you think is a good starting point?

Hi Peter! I'm keto, and I estimate that I get 1,400 calories from fat per day: 550 from avocado oil, 250 from eggs (6 eggs per day), 200 from MCT oil, and 400 from peanuts. I cook with avocado oil at pretty high heat but it never smokes. I don't heat my MCT oil. Does this daily fat composition set off any alarm bells for you? Each day, I supplement 4 grams of EPA and 2 grams of DHA, and 10mg of astaxanthin, but I don't know if that has any impact.
