I started rapamycin for my first cycle 3 months ago. Within 10 days I noted reduced palmar fascia tightness and by 3 weeks increased extension range in my most affected ring finger. I gained 20 degrees. This has maintained now during my off cycle. I have not four this specific effect in the hand surgery literature. Any insight?
Hello Dr Attia I’m a 56 year old woman and have been taking 2 mg estradiol since age 45 due to a hysterectomy then. My question is regarding the possible cessation of HRT as one ages. My OB has brought up that I should agree to decrease the dose as I age and eventually discontinuing dosage in my 60’s. Is there any evidence that using HRT into the 60’s and beyond offers protection against osteoporosis /osteopenia and that discontinuing use could hasten their onset? Especially if one produces no estrogen as it was a full hysterectomy. Does the risk of breast cancer increase as we agree with use of HRT? Apparently insurance will balk at payment of HRT into the 60’s, which honestly ,I’ll pay myself if there’s protection to be gained with its use. Thanks so much for all you do! Hoping for a hypertension deep dive. Not sure why, despite excellent weight and health my BP is always somewhere around 140/80. Probably stress. Would love to hear what triggers people like me can try to pull and, then, what BP lowering agents would be best to discuss with our primary docs should those fail.
