I have listened and relistended, scoured the show notes and unfortunately till cannot find an answer. Is Lp(a) fixed (It was mentioned that it should be measured once in a persons life)? My understanding is that it can be lowered by PCSK9 inhibitors. IF so, when would you expect to see a decrease? If no decrease, longer treatment? Increase dose? Change drug? Stop and just treat with Statin? Other options to lower Lp(a)? Thank you!
Paul Jaminet, PhD: “When total calories are kept constant, but protein intake is varied, controlled trials find that higher protein intake leads to only slight, statistically insignificant gains. On the other hand, consuming more calories, whatever the source, leads to substantial muscle gain. He cites: http://pmid.us/1400008, http://pmid.us/18500968, and http://pmid.us/20683237.
