Hi, I'm a neurosurgeon interested in providing content for pt's in the brain tumor space. Sorry, this is off-topic from your usual questions, but your web design looks great, what firm/web company (ie Squarespace) do you use for your web design? Thanks so much, Carlos Sanchez (GW Neurosurgery / Columbia School Public Health)
The more recent studies showing a blunting of hypertrophy, strength, and VO2Max gains while taking Metformin have given many pause - ironically while still being touted heavily in the body building community. Simple question- the studies that raised the concerns were time-boxed - the longest being I believe 14 weeks. Both showed improvements but the metformin taking subjects showed less improvements. Is it a leap to conclude that taking metformin will limit maximal gains? Perhaps if the studies last two years both placebo and metformin taking subjects would achieve genetic maximums for strength, muscle mass, and vo2max but it will just take the metformin users longer to get there. I have and plan to continue my training regimen longer than 14 weeks...
I think that someone asked this question before but I couldn't find your response. I have normal total testosterone but very low free testosterone. Other tests have shown this is because of very high sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG). How can I reduce the amount of SHBG? And would this be helpful?
I am 75, been sidelined in my efforts to maintain muscle mass by persistent shoulder bursitis, despite rest, ice and the usual for 3 months...thoughts on solumedrol injection to get me back to training routine after appropriate gradual resistance work, of course...??
