Afib in endurance athletes

My FIL was recently diagnosed with afib during a routine colonoscopy. He is a very active 68-year-old who has been an endurance athlete his whole life and still runs marathons. His doctor told him the afib could be related to all of his exercising. I know you did a podcast on whether there was such a thing as "too much exercise," but I do not recall this being covered. Can you revisit the topic if possible? My husband has also been an endurance runner his whole life

How Do I Know if Metformin is Working

I've been taking 500 mg of metformin twice a day for 50 days. I am 66 years old and exercise about 10 hours per week, about 150 minutes in zone 2 on a bike. I am not overweight and I am not taking the drug to lose weight, but today I weighed 169 lbs with 11.1% body fat. The day I started metformin I weighed 173 lbs. How do I know if the metformin is doing anything positive for me?

Resistance Training, High Intensity Training (Not H.I.I.T)

I would be grateful for your thoughts on High-Intensity Training as per Dr Doug McGuff (Body by Science). Super-slow, one set to failure training protocols. @DougMcGuff

Arthritis

Hi Peter, I am 54 years old and have arthritis in my back, hands and now it appears my hips too. Are there any lifestyle interventions, diet modifications or medical remedies that can slow the progression of arthritis and/or reduce symptoms. I am sure that here are many people in a similar position who can se arthritis as a major stumbling block in our desire to stay physically fit and active into old age.
