CMG and Understanding Results

Peter, I have enjoyed you conversations on VO2 Max, Muscle Mass and CGM so much that I signed up for three months of CGM. Although NutriSense includes a dietitian for the first month I am struggling to interpret the results and process the advice. As a result of the CGM I have increased my daily fat consumption and reduced my carbs, but it seems more complex than that. Could you lay out your thoughts on how to use CGM data, i.e., what’s critical, can I have a high peak after a good dinner without feeling guilty, what’s a good average blood glucose number, how does a full day of hard exercise (hiking with a loaded pack and leading 5.10/5.11 rock climbs) change or does it change how my body responds to snacks, meals, etc. Separating exercise induced vs. food induced blood sugar spikes is difficult at best. I still don’t know whether I’m doing well, or well behind the curve! Thanks

ApoB & endothelial dysfunction BOTH required simultaneously for ASCVD?

Are ApoB containing lipoproteins only atherosclerotic in the presence of endothelial dysfunction? Stated another way, is it only when the endothelium has been damaged that an ApoB particle can just stochastically enter from the lumen of the artery that it then gets caught in the already-occurring immune response due to endothelial damage that ultimately creates FOAM cells and the whole pathway starts? ALTERNATIVELY, can the ApoB-containing particles somehow get into the endothelium regardless of its structural integrity? Like some sort of cellular transport via proteins? If it is the former, then shouldn't measuring ApoB *always* have to be accompanied by a metric for endothelial health to be relevant? If your ApoB is high, but the endothelium is super tight and healthy, then is the ApoB number alone useful?

Protocols After Stent

After stent procedure, would you recommend different protocols in terms of protein consumption and exercise especially Zone 2 and 5? Any other recommended protocols including lab tests?

Sports in the exercise framework

I am curious what you think of the role of sports in the exercise framework. Obviously playing something like tennis or basketball or most other play style sports bring the athlete through all zones of exercise, and thus they would create a very different stimulus than strict Zone 2. That said, I wonder if there is any reasonable way to think play sport time could reduce one's weekly Zone 2 "requirement" as there must be some overlapping benefit? This leaves out all the social/coordination/proprioception and other benefits as well. Thanks!

Human development, pregnancy

Good day, I would like to inquire, whether you have plans for an episode of nutritional requirements of pregnant and lactating women? Mostly highlighting the crucial points of sufficient micronutrient and trace element intake, as well as general recommendations on adequate protein and energy intake? Apart from nutrition, I'm also interested in certain behavioral changes one can implement to better the intrauterine development (mostly neurologic) of the offspring. Obviously factors like stress, insecurity, poverty have a huge impact on the developing human, but, it would be nice to recapitulate the recommendations for lifestyle management and behavioral choices in the months of pregnancy. Though it was a long time ago since I read Rob Sapolsky's "Behave", but I'm kind of convinced, that it's a great resource, I was just more interested in a holistic-more broad picture when it comes to pregnancy. Thank you very much for the podcasts and newsletters, I am looking forward to further episodes. Keep up the great work. Cheers!
