In your interview with Don Layman, you talk about how the gut bacteria in a cow creates the extra Amino acids for the cows when eating plants. Would it be possible to have a human safe version of this gut bacteria for vegans, so they could create the amino acids, cutting out the "middle cow"?
I really enjoyed the podcast with Don Layman, but I felt there could have been more actionable recommendations or best practices mentioned. For instance, which type of protein is optimal, at what amount, at what part of day, for minimal goal vs hypertrophy. Thank you.
You have done several recent podcasts delving into protein (which has been great) and the thinking behind a high protein diet in combination with exercise makes a lot of sense. However, there seems to be a wide variety of perspectives on animal vs plant protein and it's impact on aging. David Sinclair and Valter Longo minimize animal protein in their diets. How should we think about the ratio of animal vs plant protein and/or timing (e.g. animal protein at first and last meal with plant proteins at other meals)? Are there particular amino acids that we should be restricting as we think about longevity?
I just read the question that says you sing your theme song. Is that correct? Do you perform the music too or play in a band? Perhaps you can discuss this on an AMA. I miss the old style AMAs that hit a wide variety of topics. Could you collect the miscellaneous questions that don’t fit into your deep dive AMAs and do an old style one occasionally? Thank you for sharing your expertise so generously with the public. God bless you.
