I have experienced a significant increase in blood pressure since starting TRT. I have cycled on and off and observed up to a 10 point change in blood pressure. Is this just coincidence or should I have real concern? My baseline blood pressure has risen as I have aged into the 130's/70's with TRT is has been into the 140's/80's. I'm a nonsmoker who regularly exercises (70+ METS/week) and has otherwise great cardio/lipid stats. Oh and the TRT has done wonders for muscle mass, energy and sleep. Prior to implementing total testosterone was in the 230's.
This is definitely out of zone two. Where does that fit in the plan. I feel my zone 2 training, because of how low I have to stay to stay in zone 2 gives me little benefit... I have progressed more in 2 months with the functional training sessions than in any other exercise regimen I got into...
Can Peter elaborate on his framework for strength training? He has eloquently described his four pillars of fitness whereby strength is one of those components, but I don’t recall hearing details as to how he structures his strength training workouts, which he does four days per week. How often does he vary the workouts? How is he keeping track of his workouts? Is he doing a total body split? Supersets? There’s so much here to unpack and it would be helpful for me to learn about how he structures and develops his strength training days.
