What are the alternatives to or methods to delay hip replacement surgery?

A male friend at age 65 is looking at a possible hip replacement. Are there any alternatives or ways to put off doing it a few more years? https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5522532/ suggests that there is a 20% chance of needing a "revision", the HR of which go up after just 10 years, which is not great.

Plasma/Blood Donation

Some time ago, you mentioned you had a fall after donating multiple units of blood (or plasma). You didn't mention your reason. And at that time I thought it was pecular that you were "allowed" to donate more than one. Curiously, someone else in the the twitter sphere mentioned doing this for "longevity" benefits. Would you please share your reasons?

Before and after surgery

If you know you need surgery for something in three months, what would do in the months before to prepare? In the week before? In the week after? The months after? I assume resistance exercise will be part of it to minimize muscle wasting, but what else? Are there any diet or supplement protocols to consider? Some of your guests have talked about the benefits of fasting prior to surgery for example. Would Urolithin A be something to consider to reduce muscle wasting?

Looking for a Meta-analysis re: meat & vegetable intake, and cancer incidence

From #205, Layne Norton makes the following statement: Layne notes, “What they found was that at the highest levels of meat intake, but also with the highest levels of fruit and vegetable intake, there was no difference in cancer incidents between the lowest level of meat intake and even with the highest level of fruit and vegetable intake” Do we have a link to the meta analysis he references?
