Bone Heath and TRT

Dear Peter & Team, I'm another new member that joined partly due to the recent bone health AMA, although I've been eyeing a membership for a while. I have some questions related to bone health that I'd love to see covered in a future episode: - Would you consider TRT for men with low bone density? Data seems to suggest it can improve BMD. - Under what circumstances would it be considered? Under a specific level of free testosterone? - Would it be considered for men with low testosterone and low BMD but who are otherwise asymptomatic? I realize osteopenia/osteoporosis more commonly affects females, but there are males affected, and it would be much appreciated if you could consider the above. Some background about me: - Hip fracture (neck of femur) around the end of 2020 from a fall and collision with the curb. I was 36 years old. - Subsequent DEXA showed a -2.1 T-Score at the femoral neck, to my surprise as I was relatively well built and weighed 182 lbs at the time. - Recent testosterone blood test of 292 ng/dl. - Have put on significant muscle mass from regular RT since the accident and don't have any obvious low testosterone symptoms (apart from my BMD!). Many thanks in advance.

Statin benefits outweigh potential raised blood sugar levels

I am on the fence about statins. I hear about the upside of taking a statin and all things point to that vs doing nothing. But what about the side effects particularly raised blood sugar levels? I have excellent blood sugar levels and don’t want to see it go up. It doesn’t seem to make sense if you are fixing one problem but creating another and taking even more medicine. Do a lot of people taking statins inevitably become pre-diabetic?

Joints, cartilage and bone health AMA

Dear Peter I enjoyed the Bone Health AMA very much, thank you! You mentioned lots of great exercises to support bones throughout life like rucking or going down the hill with heavy weights etc. Should there be any adjustments to this for people with joints/cartilage issues (e.g. knee pain)? In general, It would be fantastic to know your opinion on the topic of joints and cartilage, it looks like a completely different area of research to bone health. Many thanks and best regards

Guest suggestion on decision making, probability and the potential damage of medicine

Hi Peter, I'm just done reading Nassim Nicholas Taleb's "Antifragile", I don't know if you've read it. If not, I'm sure you'd LOVE it, no kidding. I'm just suggesting to consider this wonderful (and quite entertaining) author as a podcast guest.

Chronic Anxiety

I had a panic attack in 2019 which landed me in the emergency room thinking I was having a heart attack. My age at the time was 41. I was trying to start a business and spend weeks upon weeks with getting little sleep. I feel this contributed to it ultimately, but since then I’ve changed everything around sleep habits, exercise, supplementation, etc but still have bouts of anxiety that rock my world and can’t shake it. My question is this: What biochemically is happening to bring this on? Could it also be something physically that is happening that bring it on? I’m on TRT which has helped tons, but not a complete cure. I want to understand as much as possible so that I can combat this and get back to life. Thank you
