Zone 2 Training

I've been training in Zone 2 continuously for about 3 months. Averaging about 5 hours per week, with about 15% at the end of workouts above Zone 2, shooting for Zone 5. My Zone 2 performance does not seem to be improving, my output to maintain the 70% heart rate hasn't improved at all. Is there something more that you would recommend doing. Do I simply need to put in more hours?

Best way to learn new movement patterns

I’m increasingly intrigued by practitioners like Beth Lewis and Ido Portal. I have a somewhat comfortable income but in these trying times, and with two young kids, it doesn’t look like it’s in the cards for me to travel and attend a class. Are there good(if not quite as expert) options to get an analysis done? I have periodic back pain and am having difficulties making progress with parts of my workout and am hopeful that some of it may be rooted in solvable biomechanic errors. Thanks for your attitude of skepticism and ability to reframe your approach based on updated knowledge, it’s restored my faith in ‘believing the science’- need more folks like you who guard against motivated reasoning!

Stress Induced Physical Ailment

Have you ever had a stress induced physical ailment? i.e. migraine, mouth sores, stomach ulcer, eye twitch, etc. Any comment on how to reduce stress and your general response after such event? Thank you!

Elevated HbA1c but normal glucose regulation

Hi Peter, Thank you for all of the wonderful content you put out. My question is regarding my husband. He has had continually increasing HbA1c over the last several years, currently sitting at 6.1% However, he has no known risk factors for diabetes or insulin resistance. He does CrossFit 5-6 days/week, zone 2 workouts several days/wk and has an active job in healthcare. He is a healthy weight with plenty of muscle mass. He eats very healthy (I cook most of our meals because I am gluten and dairy intolerant), with almost no refined sugar. After begging his last PCP to prescribe a CGM, we monitored his blood glucose for 8 weeks. It never went above about 150 mg/dL, and that was only when he did very intense CrossFit workouts (zone 4/5). Otherwise his glucose regulation seemed completely normal, or even rather low, but the HbA1c keeps going up. He also has serious sleep issues, which has been linked to impaired glucose regulation in the literature I've read. We have seen several PCPs and none of them seem to be concerned. His newest PCP said that he cannot prescribe any additional CGM unless my husband is fully diabetic. I cannot find any literature explaining why someone would be normoglycemic but have steadily increasing A1c and worsening sleep. If you know of any literature on this phenomenon, I would deeply appreciate it. Kindest regards
