Zone 2 follow up

Since I first heard your initial podcast on zone 2 training I have incorporated it consistently 4 times per week for 45 minutes. I thought I remembered Inigo San Milan saying it should be at least 45 minutes in duration. However, lately I have also taken up strength training and am willing to devote 30 minutes every day to zone 2, including the days I lift. So my question is, is 30 minutes every day more of a benefit than 45 minutes four times a week. Or is there no to little benefit until you reach the 45 minute timeframe?

VO2max and Hematocrit interdependence

As VO2 max is one of the chief markers for longevity, I would like to know what role hematocrit plays, if any, in increasing VO2 max. I ask because I am, without any particular biological reason, slightly anemic (36.7%) but maintain a relatively good VO2 Max (46). To improve my VO2 max, must hematocrit also improve?

SAD diet and weight maintenance

I am new subscriber but in a free podcast you mention that 20% of people on the SAD diet does not gain weight? would you share your source of information? also about what percentage of people in your practice are able to lose weight and maintain without medications or surgery? and do you have a standard advise for weight maintenance or is it personalized in certain specific parameters depending in certain variables. thank you for all the information you share

Family History of Arthritis/Glucosamine Supplementation/Joints

Peter, my family has a history of arthritis. My mom (61) just had both knees fully replaced within past 1.5 years. I myself (32) have had MCL/ACL sprains, a cyst removed, and bursitis in my left knee. I have been taking a glucosamine plus MSM 1500 mg supplement from Schiff for nearly a year. Maybe it’s a placebo effect but my knee feels better. As far as exercise protocol should I do less impact activities like running and stick to more biking and rowing for my zone 2 exercise? Should I avoid certain heavy strength exercises like squatting? Is there anything nutrition wise to include diet and additional supplements to take to prevent arthritis? Is it possible for me to prevent arthritis? I am in much better physical shape than my mother. I am not overweight and have been very active my whole life. I would really appreciate a deep dive into this topic!
