Continuous Lactate Meter

Is there any clarity on when Abbott will be releasing the Lingo series of wearables that was announced at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2022? One of the monitors mentioned was for lactate. Obviously, this would streamline the process for isolating zone 2. And it should be far more insightful for observing the curve.

Poor sleep during extended fasts

I've been doing extended fasts for a bit now (3-7 days) and I always struggle to get good night sleeps. Feels a bit of a lottery, some nights are great others really poor. Is there something we can do to improve sleeping while doing extended fasts?

Stem Cell AMA

Hi Peter, It would be great if you could do a full AMA around stem cells. Ideally covering: -What are Stem Cells, their types, their functions in the body -Their potential effects in the body and uses in medicine -Where we are currently with their effective use -Whats are the current risks of use -Where would Peter recommend their use in his patients And anything else deemed relevant…. -What excites Peter about the potential of Stem Cells

Zone 2 Training and Muscles

If I am doing zone 2 training solely on a stationary bike, do the metabolic benefits accrue only to my leg muscles, or are the benefits also apparent in my upper body muscles? Should I be doing zone 2 training on a rowing machine to involve both upper and lower body muscles?

Lipoprotein ratio and clinical significance

How does one weigh risk with: a) LDL-C 208 mg/dL b) HDL-C 75 mg/dL c) Total cholesterol 297mg/dL d) Apo B-ARUP 124 mg/dL e) Apo A-ARUP 275 mg/dL f) Triglyceride 68 mg/dL TG/HDL= 0.906; TC/HDL=3.96 mg/dL( target 4.5 men) ; LDL/HDL=2.8 mg/dL(target 2.5); Apo B/ApoA=0.45 (ApoB/ApoA=0.8 target) (This ration is stronger predictor than LDL/HDL' total cholesterol/HDL ratios according to https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19774217/ Yet in Dayspring "Understanding entire lipid profile. If LDL-C > 190 mg/dL drug therapy no matter what else you fine." I am confuse? I thought LDL-C no longer carry as much weight and ratio is more predictive in risk. Q2 Would you prescribe statin with these lab results and no history of family hypercholesterolemia, MI, exercise regularly, healthy diet, no drinks, smoke. To reinforce your risk assessment would you add coronary calcium score, echocardiogram? I am new to your site and appreciate your well thought out questions with your guest and clinical practicality. I hope my questions will be answered given there are so many others Thanks
