protein / saturated fat tradeoff

For someone with the does-well-low-carb-but-lipids-look-not-great, it strikes me an alternative to chugging olive oil to reduce saturated fat might be to increase protein (shrimp, chicken, low sf red meat) past what it takes to preserve lean muscle mass. Given you’ve become a little less low-mtor-always, would a higher % protein diet make sense as an alternative to the sometimes not the most palatable low carb high monounsaturated fat.

Sweet Spot Training

Curious about Peter's thoughts on sweet spot training and its use in cycling as a balance in regards to improving fitness without overburdening the cardiovascular system.

Your thoughts on peptide therapy and SARMs for antiaging

I have no experience myself but saw an increased use on peptide therapy for growth hormone like CJC and ipamorelin and SARMs(selective androgen receptor modulators. I wanted to know if you have heard them and if you did, what was your take on them used for antiaging and/or safer alternatives for TRT.

NAFLD / Research quality

https://mdpi-res.com/d_attachment/nutrients/nutrients-14-00854/article_deploy/nutrients-14-00854.pdf I’d love to hear your take on this paper. I know research quality and NAFLD are two areas where you have a lot of insight. This paper concludes that meat eating contributes to NAFLD and fruits and veggies are protective. Is that the proper conclusion to draw

The relationship between Endometriosis, PCOS, IR, and Longevity in Women

Hi Peter, Endometriosis and PCOS affect a non-trivial percentage of the female population, and in both cases, there seems to be a link between IR and chronic inflammation among a litany of other disregulations. As a woman in my mid-30s who is interested in healthspan and plagued by both of these conditions, when I listen to your podcast I am consistently questioning how these diseases might re-color my approach to fasting, exercise, the use of metformin, etc. beyond your standard recommendations. If your team does go down the rabbit hole of research in this arena, I would also be curious about your take on the two different theories of pathogenesis in Endo: (1) The retrograde menstruation theory, which does not explain postmenopausal and post-hysterectomy endo and (2) the theory that pathway is laid down invitro via stem cells, thus explaining why it shows up at all stages of life and in all anatomical cavities of the body. I recommend Nancy's Nook Endometriosis Education for info about the most cutting-edge research and connects to the Nation's top excision specialists. Thanks for your consideration!
