Is LDL-C irrelevant once you have APO B or LDL-P?

Does LDL-C have any value provided one has APO-B or LDL-P?

Eight Sleep vs. Chilipad/Ooler

Peter - It seems you've changed allegiances from the Chilipad Ooler system to the EightSleep system. Is EightSleep a superior technology/system over the Ooler (if so what benefits are you seeing that are worth the switch for Ooler users) or are they just the better marketers who are willing to pay for advertising to help with placement? (I'd be giving you a free system to try as well if I were them). Thanks for us 1%'er data nerds out there.

Sleep Deprivation - why/how?

Forgive me if you've covered this, but what exactly happens to your body after not sleeping for a day or two; anecdotally mild closed eye hallucinations, declined cognition sort of like being drunk, seeing more prominent veins after 24 hours, bruising more easily (previous two: stimulants?).and more pimplest? And WHY do doctors do it? And how? Is it hormonal?

Loved ones having health complaints

Mmy mom and a few close friends complain every week or two about health problems like high blood pressure, migraines, and sleeping all the time in the winter etc and lament that it bothers them, they want to change it, but they can't find anything that works. They ask me for advice. I share information with them, i offer to give them things that will help them like a happy lamp, I share my vitals with keto, but although they are serious about their complaint they are 100% adamant about continuing to do the same things and continue complaining, rinse & repeat, maybe try this or that prescription med with little to no improvement. As someone who is like you and is always looking for better solutions to challenges and self improvement, this is a HUGE pet peeve. Can you shed any inside into the psychology of this? And regardless of the why, is there any other way but leading by example to help them? It is so painful to see people I love suffering when research suggests doing something simple or taking a low to no side effect drug could help, like how one of my friends got injured and was visibly wincing but refused advil because of "chemicals." *headdesk*

Physician interested in longevity medicine

Peter, Thank you for an outstanding resource. I’ve enjoyed your content tremendously. I’m an academic physician in emergency medicine but have long had an interest in longevity medicine. I feel like in emergency medicine I see so much preventable disease, and I’d love to move towards the prevention side but with a focus on exercise, nutrition, sleep, etc. I also need to be honest and express that I’m quite “burned out” especially after Covid and I need a change. My question is, how do I start? How did you transition from a surgeon to your current practice model? Any resources, training, etc that you would recommend? Thank you.
