Rogan recommendation
In light of the recent controversial guests on Rogan and his desire for guests to balance these opinions, would you use your influence to suggest Dr. Paul Offit. I know Zubin Damania has mentioned Offit as the perfect counterpoint that should be on Rogan. Because Offit is a specialist in the topic at hand (vaccine development, immunology, and virology), I cannot think of anyone more suited. And he is a great communicator. Osterholm, from an epidemiology perspective, would like be too preachy, and I feel off-putting to many (I respect him and listen to him weekly). Others would be okay, but… Paul Offit just has to be the guy. I know that would be Zubin’s pick as well, but don’t think he has a direct line to Rogan’s ear like you do. Thanks! iron absorption - anemia vs iron overload
I was recently diagnosed with hemachromatosis, double mutation C282Y. Can you talk about iron absorption and the effect diet can have on iron absorption, both increasing or inhibiting iron uptake. How significantly does vitamin C, acids and carotenoids increase iron absorption. Can phytates, pholyphenols, calcium, phosvitin and oxlates be paired with heme iron foods to block iron absorption? Should these foods pairing be avoided when anemic or make an impact on reducing iron overload? Would combining the right foods significantly help reduce iron overload over time and conversely decrease anemia through absorption? What effect, if any, does the gut biome have on iron uptake? Do you have a reccomendend range for Ferritin level, age and gender specific? Thank you!
