Tibetan Rites

I read about Tibetan Rites in James Nestor's book, "Breathe". He referred to it as a sort of 'fountain of youth'. It entails five daily exercises to improve general health/wellness. I have been doing them daily (sometime twice a day) for the past couple months. Do you have any thoughts on the Tibetan Rites? Is there any support for it being good for health?

Blood Sugar Level Elevated Post Covid

Combo of question and something worth looking into. I am a non-diabetic, and have been using a CGM for the past 6 months to fine tune my diet and nutrition around training. My blood sugar daily average is usually between 95-100mg/dl, with a range of 70-125. My diet is largely meat based, with salads, roasted vegetables and the occasional sweet potato around a heavy cardio or strength training session. When I got covid, my blood sugar ramped to 150-170 average per day, with spikes around food that previously didn't bother me in the 200-250 range and a standard deviation of 24. I was symptomatic for about a week, and by week two I was back to regular activity. Now, 1 month later, with my diet dialed in to what previously yielded 100mg/dl average and 70-125 range; my average stats for the past 14 days are the follows. Mean 122, Max 181, Min 101, standard deviation 13. The previous 2 weeks, during symptomatic covid, Mean was 136, min was 92, max was 275 and standard deviation was 24. So we've seen some improvements, the most notable is standard deviation, so it seems like there is some improvement, but it's still way off and I'm essentially pre diabetic right now. The question is, do we have any idea about the mechanism that may be causing this in covid? Has this been seen in other healthy individuals? I'm a lifelong athlete, tennis, soccer, mountain biking, weightlifting, 6 days a week at least a hour a day of training, usually 2-3. I'm 5'10" 155lbs, primo bloodwork based on all the guidance I've learned from this podcast over the years.. It's quite strange from my perspective to see this, and it could have major implications for public health moving forward and warrant study correct? What if covid causes pre-diabetes no matter how healthy, wha? Granted, over time I can keep you informed re: what I see and where the numbers go, but it sure seems like something to keep an eye on, as blood sugar, metabolic health, and diabetes seem to be the core foundational issues in human health.

Covaxin

After listening to your most recent podcasts on Covid, Dr. Monica Gandhi seemed to be a big proponent of Covaxin. I am what would be called, "vaccine hesitant" primarily for 2 reasons. First, I am a very healthy 50 year old man. Secondly, I don't believe there is a significant enough risk that I will die or be intubated if I contract Covid especially now with a less virulent strain. However, after hearing what you and the groups said about how effect against all strains Covaxin and the fact that it we are much more familiar with it in the long term vs. new mRNA vaccines, I might consider taking it assuming it gets approval in the US. What are your thoughts on this? I realize you were suggesting it would helpful as a booster but what if it was just taken as a "1st vaccine" dose? Would it protect me better than no vaccine?
