GHRPs

What’s all the fuss about GHRPs? There are clear advantages to boosting IGF-1 and doing so in a way that still allows negative feedback at the level of the pituitary. But since what we don’t know we don’t know is potentially dangerous, is there any evidence to suggest they may lead to cancer?

Lp(a) and Keto

Have you seen evidence for, or have anecdotal experience suggesting, that those with lp(a) are perhaps harmed by a keto diet, perhaps because lipoproteins are more likely to be taken up by macrophages within the endothelium rather than passing through?

aEER as determined by a Meta Analysis of Meta Analyses

I was recently reading a meta analysis on the effects of radon gas on lung cancer. After listening to the AMA on understanding studies I tried to go down the rabbit hole a bit. The main paper reported a aEER (Adjusted excess relative risks) per unit concentration and I wanted to see where the first paper from the meta got their results. I looked up the first citation and it was .... another meta analysis. I may have missed it but is doing this sort of work "typical" or "reasonable"? I am trying to determine if a very small aEER (0.15) - basically a relative risk reduction - determined in this fashion is actually meaningful. Likewise I assume this could be applied to any other set of studies.

Basis for Peter's statement that max METs for 3 minutes times 3.5 will estimate VO2 max?

In episode 176, Peter states that "if you know how many METs you can hold for three minutes, then you multiply that by 3.5 and that’s your VO2 max." How does Peter know this? For the life of me, I cannot find a paper that makes this connection. There are plenty of papers that discuss various treadmill or cycling protocols with several stages and heart-rate stopping rules.

RE: Fruit/Vegetable Podcast

- what is the data (if any) supporting David Sinclair’s claim that eating “stressed plants” is best? - how do you get kids to eat their fruit and veggies? Which veggies should you prioritize? Volume? - what about consuming veggies in powder form (eg AG 1) vs their “natural” form?
