Zone 2 vs 3 mitochondrial function

Is Inigo San Milan saying that as we move from zone 2 to zone 3 that type 1 muscle fiber mitochondrial function decreases absolutely, or just relatively as glycolysis increases as a relative percentage? If I do a zone 2 work out but move in and out of Zone 3 unintentionally, am I getting more or less benefit to my mitochondria?

Mitochondrial function as cause or effect of diabetes

Inigo San Milan seems to suggest that one of the early findings of type 2 diabetes or even pre diabetes is loss of mitochondria. Does he feel this is a cause or effect of the diabetes? What is the mechanism by which mitochondrial training (zone 2) would treat diabetes, not just improve mitochondrial function?

Zone 2 blood glucose

I’ve seen a couple of charts etc. regarding a drop in blood glucose during zone 2 exercise. Is there a point where it’s too low? I’m seeing values in the mid 60s (mg/dL) after about 30 minutes of zone 2 exercise on the bike. While this feels normal, just wondering if there’s a point where it’s too low?

How to time workouts when you workout >7 days a week?

You’ve talked about protocols such as: 4 zone 2 trainings 1 Vo2 max training 4 weight lifting / resistance training So a total of 9 workouts, which is more than days per week, which I presume is common for a lot of different programs. How do you split them / group them within the week? Do you lift directly after zone 2? Do you do cardio in the morning, and lift in the afternoon? Or is the grouping/timing irrelevant compared to output? Thanks!

Breathing

Do you do recommend any breathing exercises or have plans to discuss James Nestor’s book “Breath”?
