A lot of places that suggest fasting also say it should be done under medical supervision. What does medical supervision actually entail? What are the risks that medical supervision is watching out for? What protocol should a MD follow when a patient is fasting?

It is not clear to me what a relatively fit individual who does not consume extraordinary amounts of carbohydrates can do to keep glucose levels lower than 150 -postprandial. The CGM is a great tool but comes with many unanswered questions. Short of meds and or are meds indicated? Thank you.
