Blood donation and Iron status

As I came cross your IG post on your blood donation, I wonder what are your takes on it? Are you donating quarterly? Since I am also quarterly donating blood which started about 10 years ago for philanthropic reasons before I began to dive deep into health and longevity. I started to wonder if this is beneficial to long-term health outcomes. Have there been any long-term studies on the outcomes of regular donors? Also, I have been taking Ferrous fumarate 200mg every other day to prevent iron deficiency which in turn can cause oxidative stress and might be detrimental to my long-term health, or not? Last time I checked, my Ferritin level was 73 ng/ml and my Hb varied around 13.5 and 15 g/dl. Does this mean that my iron supplementation is appropriate? Do you have a preferred range of Ferritin level? Or are there any more important measures of iron status to monitor, other than Ferritin, that could ensure the optimal level?

glucose level during exercise

SuperSapiens contends high glucose (>140) is OK while you are actively engaged in exercise as there is no insulin response due to the muscle taking up the glucose and moreover a high glucose level drives glucose into the muscle improving performance. My G6 goes off (>140) if I have a bread sandwich before a ride - so should I avoid (>140) during a ride? BTW I have a reactive hypoglycemic condition so generally I follow a ketoish diet but with too much protein to be in full keto. When training it is difficult for me to maintain muscle glycogen on this diet. Coach says 60% carbs is optimal for my training but that would send my glucose into a rollercoaster. I use UCAN to address this issue as best I can.

Semaglutide vs insuline levels and fat loss

While your AMA #29 on GLP-1 Agonists is quite informative, there's one point i would like your opinion on: If semaglutide, respectively GLP-1 and GIP increases the insulin levels, and high insulin is prohibitive to weight loss respectively acts as physiologic trigger of fat storage; how does GLP-1 support weight loss, and more specifically fat mass reduction?

Athletic Greens

Heard you mention that you like Athletic Greens on JRE. Have you found it to be effective for yourself and/or do you recommend it to patients? Do you consider it a true supplement (to be taken in addition to plant food consumption) or a viable replacement, as many have indicated? Finally, do you feel it's a good investment at the price (around $3/serving)?

Vaccinating Children for Covid 19

On JRE you mentioned you don't intend to vaccinate your 5 year old. From what I have read so far there are no reports of any side effects in children to date. Is there data we are missing? When factoring in Covid comorbidities what is your full reasoning for waiting?
