A silver lining of quarantining was that for about 18 months I did not have any colds. This clean streak ended several months ago shortly after being vaccinated and I starting to go out and about without a mask. While on the phone with my mother I mentioned that I felt like I might be getting a cold. She insisted I run out and get some Zinc lozenges to prevent getting sick. Over the years she has had many suggestions like this with Vitamin C and Echinacea upon which I cast similar doubt assuming they wishful thinking based on good marketing. I'd like to hear you speak about whether Zinc or any other supplement taken early can shorten or reduce cold symptoms.
Are there studies that show taking a booster Covid-19 Vaccine is effective. My impression is that unfortunately the current push for boosters is based more on wishful thinking and politics and will further undermine people's will to get vaccinated while reducing the ability to vaccinate everyone in the world. Separately, I am interested to hear why the CDC/FDA have still not authorized any vaccine other the original emergency authorizations. This is particularly disturbing to me regard giving the vaccine to children where the initial testing was done on so few children and there may be an increased incidence of myocarditis. Are you able to fish out whether or not this is true? There must be evidence one way or another given that millions of adults and children have vaccinated both within the US and around the world.
