Delta variant

Can you bring back Dr. Ioannidis to have a frank discussion on emergence of the delta variant and the apparent ineffectiveness of mRNA vaccines relative to those that have gotten covid and recovered. He’s the only heterodox thinker you’ve had relating to the pandemic and would certainly appreciate his insight. Or a legit immunologist that’s at least willing to look objectively as to why natural immunity would confer advantage to a vaccine that encodes for a single antigenic portion and whether such an approach would actually select for mutation of the spike protein.

Future Podcast Guest: Daniel Schmachtenberger

Hi Peter — I remember you put out a call for podcast guests a while back. I think you and Schmachtenberger share an interest in human quality of life, and he focuses more on designing the civilization-scale systems that would enhance this. You can find his work at civilizationemerging.com (past), concilienceproject.com (present), and neurohacker.com (present—maybe less topical).

How to deal with cravings - in and out of time-restricted diets? And what role does genetics play in those?

[submitting this for a 2nd time since I didn't get a confirmation in the 1st try] First: thank you so, so much Peter and team for the work you do. I honestly cannot see any other medium out there who can dissect science in such an intuitive, detailed and intelectually honest way. The 2-in1 question is stated above, but here's some background: When it comes to exercising, I'm very disciplined - both in consistency (usually wake up at 5:30am to run, incl. weekends) and grit (I've run half marathons at an average HR of 180bps without stopping). But eating has always been my Achilles' heel. I'm a picky eater in general and have particularly strong sugar cravings. TRD seems to help a bit, but eventually I'll screw up and go way off track. I've also tried supplementing with chromium with no success - to be fair, I had very noticeable effects for the first couple of days, but these seemed to subside by day 3. So, to the point, do you have any research-backed recommendations on how to deal with cravigs (besides just sucking up and powering through)? Now, about genetics. I have twin children (boy and girl, 15 months old) and can already see early signs of something similar to my cravings in the baby boy. Generally speaking, he seems to have gotten more of my genetics while the baby girl is (lucky to be) more similar to my wife in many ways. Though we only feed them fresh, natural food, the baby boy already has a strong preference for carbs, especially when compared to the girl. Looking at my family, my father and siblings also poor eaters in general and sugar-addicted specifically. Interestingly, I was not raised by my father and had very little contact with him growing up, so projecting him does not seem to be the cause here. Of course, this is anecdotal at best, but it did get me thinking if genetics is not a big component of cravings. Any thoughts on that? Thank you
