Stem cell therapy for longevity and/or repair

Hello Peter, Bob and team - what is your position please on the use of pluripotent stem cells to address injuries and chronic conditions (ie CHF) or aging in general? Are any of the companies/therapies legitimate? Thanks

4th lever of Nutrition?

Question: Do you think QR, or quality restriction, amounts to be a fundamentally different axis of your nutritional CR/TR/DR framework, or constitutes some linear combination of the other 3? Background: Tactics: Not eating bad cookies, only mom's homemade cookies fresh out of the oven. Not eating break room pizza, only pizza from certain favorite places. Sushi or cannollis only at the best places on an anniversary... etc. etc. Strategy: Having an a priori list of the high glycemic or otherwise "dirty" foods and the parameters under which they can be eaten that qualify so as to not allow for a drift from a set point, as the criticism of this can be the subjectivity of what counts as "quality". There also exists an update mechanism. Objective: Personally, this enables me to have a diet that is "clean" enough to encourage longer lifespan (hopefully) while also making that longer life worth living, as longevity to me is a dual optimization of healthspan and the amount of linguine I can eat. I find the lack of a framework on distress tolerance distressing to me. Help me tolerate it.

Question: What is your framework for distress tolerance? Background: Pulling from what you have out there it seems the objective is avoidance of hypercortisolemia, using non postprandial/excercise CGM spikes as a proxy value (insert "but muh dawn effect"). But it would also seem to be the minimization of chronic stress or maximization of one's ability to respond to acute stressors (no hard metrics to work with). Hard to define an objective. Good. and I can't find an explicated strategy. Good. The tactic you've put forward seems to be meditation, Good. but all tactics from the other 4 longevity levers (sleep, excercise, drugs) help to this end. Good. Please help, or get Jocko back on the podcast to tell me to keep saying "Good" because that's all I got right now. Good, a distressed engineer

Diabetes and glucagon and incretins

I just reviewed the episode with (poorly edited) Gerald Shulman podcast shown notes, and I couldn't find any mention of glucagon and incretins in that or other discussions. Glucagon has important roles in gluconeogenesis as discussed by Ben Bikman and the role of incretins is obvious is it not ? GLP-1 agonists and allulose are fascinating. Michael Eades gave a fascinating lecture about the putative role of incretins in obesity and diabetes genesis. Could you clarify as the glucose / insulin model needs some help ?
