Weird one: Coca leaves & fasting

Does chewing Coca leaves break a fast? Any benefits to it?

High Glucose after HIIT training

During the last AMA on wearing a CGM, Peter mentioned that he sees a high glucose response when doing a HIIT training. I have also noticed the glucose peaks; The question is the following: Is the insulin response similar to when insulin is secreted after a meal? What are the differences and benefits of such glucose peak?

Best approaches to inflammation disorders like lupus

Millions every year are diagnosed with RA and Systemic Lupus. For me, it was simply my blood panels that came back consistent with lupus and the fact that my legs ache, but free water swimming eliminates all pain for about a day. Prednisone and nsaids have no effect. So my symptoms are very slight but for many, it's awful, even fatal. Could you and Bob talk about new lupus studies and in particular what it means when bloodwork shows all the lupus markers and yet the expression of those markers runs the gamut? Btw, I am 58 and based on my achy limbs I suspect that I have had lupus with very long remissions for decades. However for me, it has never been so severe that it has caused me to stop exercising. Others are not so lucky.

Dr Lane Norton followup

Hello - enjoyed the podcast with Dr N, but frankly it was light on content more of a bio. Dr Norton seems (per his Twitter etc) to not believe in low carb diets or that saturated fat is an OK dietary component, mainstays of Dr Attia's work over the years. Can you please do a followup and get into the meat of his beliefs and "teachings" on diet and health/longevity? There are many points he seems to disagree with Dr Attia, and the incongruence is beyond my expertise to resolve :)

Calories in/out?

Per Dr Lane Norton, weight and body composition are much more of a function of calories in/out equation, rather than a more nuanced approach considering macros, timing of macros, glucose management, etc. Peter seemed to agree with Lane on most things in their talk - can you clarify your position these days on calories and macros for achieving and maintaining lower visceral in particular bodyfat? Thank you.
