TG increase during fasting

Why would TG increase during extended fasting (36 - 84 hours) while average BG drops below 70 mg/dL? Note this was seen on lipid panels over a 6-month period with blood drawn at a mix of 12, 36, and 84 hour fasting points. Generally overnight CGM readings trended down by roughly 10 points per fasting day. Granted the starting CGM levels were higher due to the a relatively high concentration of fat in my diet so the thermogenic effect of the last meal extended into the next morning. Nonetheless, the BG levels trended downward as the fast period was extended.

Outlook for Non-Invasive CGM

What's the latest lowdown on non-invasive CGM tech like patches, watches, etc.?

covid19 vaccine with autoimmune condition

Is it safe for someone with an autoimmune condition to take the covid19 vaccine (pfizer or others)? And does having had covid in the past affect that decision in any shape? Are there any vaccines that are more suitable for people with autoimmune conditions?

Just how important is muscle mass?

35 years old. 5'9", 138-143 lbs. My entire life it has been a struggle to add any weight but gaining muscle mass has been especially difficult. Any success(155 is the most I have ever been able to get up to) I have had, comes with eating a ton of carbs. Knowing the importance of muscle mass in later years; How much focus should I put on gaining mass, and is it worth the potentially negative trade off of blood glucose/metabolic health impact from all the carbs? I have a CGM on its way so I can actually see how this "bulk up" diet impacts my levels. Thanks!

A comment on the Zoe Insights program

I know it’s an awkward question but maybe you came across this in some research. I’m participating in a program called Zoe (joinzoe.com) that have you do a two weeks test to assess your blood sugar response (wearing a libre CGM) your fat response (thru dry blood testing sent by mail) and gut bacteria analysis (stool sample by mail as well). A few weeks later they provide detailed analysis (I can share the pdfs for myself if you’re interested in seeing what it looks like) and they have you download an app (Zoe Insights) that lets you look up foods and provide a personalized “score” not only for each food but also for the combination of foods into a meal and the timing and sequencing of meals. I think the idea is great and really fits what I’ve been looking for for years. The realization is maybe not great yet (meaning that I find that no matter what I do it’s going to complain about something, mostly fats, to the point that I’m left wondering “well I’ve got to eat something…”. Bottomland, I was wondering whether you’ve come across them and their research and if not it’s a way to put them on your radars. If you do check them out and think “oh gosh, total crap” do let me know! Thanks and have a great day
