My GP has recommended that I go on statins after I got a calcium score of 29.2 in the LAD (zero in others). Male aged 54, exercise regularly, DEXA body fat percentage of 15.2, total cholesterol of 212, triglycerides 81, HDL 106, LDL, 92, Apo B 71 -- otherwise healthy. Reluctant to go on statins (or any meds) and wondered whether a more detailed scan like the one that Cleerly promises to deliver would provide information to help me or my GP decide whether statins are necessary. Are you familiar with the Cleerly scan and do you have an opinion on whether it provides more useful or actionable information than current calcium score scans?
How about hockey players? 30-60 second sprints, 90-130 seconds of rest. Skating efficiency distinguishes the best. And those with higher VO2 max have longer careers, generally. Long season, and it gets brutal for the playoffs. What lessons, if any, are learned from hockey exercise experts.
