VO2Max calculation is not explained in terms of muscle fiber type or size. Isn’t the ratio of slow/fast twitch impacted by the VO2 Max being impacted by this? It seems endurance fiber types play a role in RPE but I am missing how the episode teases that apart? You can train VO2 Max on a lubed up spin bike or winded pedaling in sand on a Concept 2 bike. Are VO2 Max tests as light as possible in order to tease out this fiber strength and type issue?
