Life expectancy in the United States varies greatly by race. Asian–Americans enjoy the greatest longevity, with a nearly 8 year mortality advantage on whites. That is quite substantial. I'd like to know what Peter thinks about this and what any data/studies might point to as the reasons behind it.
Hello Peter, I'm currently under statines with Crestor. I'm wondering if it can be combined with Omega3 supplements, in particular Carlson Maximum Omega 2000 containing 2,000mg of Omega3 with 1,250mg of EPA and 500mg of DHA. I read some articles saying that it can be beneficial to combine both statines and Omega3 supplements, but at the same time, I read some articles saying that Omega3 supplements could alter the benefit of the statines. What do you think about it?
I wondered if Peter and the team have had a chance to dig through the recent study in Nature Medicine about potential risks of excess niacin. https://www.nature.com/articles/s41591-023-02793-8 As a vitamin that is commonly found in fortified breakfast cereals, could there be a deleterious effect in quantities commonly found in typical diets?
Have you heard of Physiologic Insulin Resensitization as a Treatment Modality for Insulin Resistance? There appear to be clinics offering this as a treatment for DM. I could not find evidence to support this method. The clinics appear to bring patients in multiple times a week/month for IV infusions of insulin which I am sure are not cheap. If this works that would be great and a lot of people could be helped. However, diabetes management is too important to be treated with snake oil by Charlatans.
