Hi Team - listened to Peter on Rhonda's pod - I have heard on multiple shows Peter's view of the downsides of metformin as a giro protective agent. Question: for those suffering from genetic IR is moderate metformin use (1-1.5g) helpful enough for IR treatment to offset the negatives of mitochondrial and lactate impacts in adults worried about CVD and on an aggressive exercise plan?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XfJNUbJE_V0 - He shows graphs that people with high Familial LDL actually live longer and are better protected from other diseases. Hence, statins are not needed. He does state that following your coronary calcium score is more important than following LDL levels and he does not mention APOb. I searched your archives and did not find any major write-up by you on the value of the CAC score and how best to track it. Could you please elaborate? Thank you
